Ben Foster has claimed that he is certain Junior Firpo will be an ‘absolute player’ for Leeds even though he has ‘never heard of him’, as he told his own YouTube channel.

Leeds weren’t that busy during a crazy summer transfer window, but one man they did bring to the club is Firpo from Barcelona.

The Whites, like many other clubs, made full use of Barcelona’s financial woes and snapped up their left-back.

Since putting pen-to-paper on a move to Elland Road, Firpo has played three games in all competitions.

But this is what Foster had to say about Leeds’ new £13 million man.

“Never heard of him,” laughed Foster. “£13 million, he has been at Barcelona.

“Guaranteed, he will be an absolute player. He will be fine. Junior Firpo, sorry geez.”

Stuart Dallas thrived at left-back for Leeds last season even though it isn’t his bona-fide position.

But with both Barry Douglas and Gjanni Alioski leaving the club this summer, more depth was needed in that area.

Perhaps if Barca weren’t in such a troublesome financial situation then they probably wouldn’t have let Firpo go.

But this is where Leeds need to make sure what is the Spanish giants’ loss is their gain in the long run.
