Tim Howard has opened up on his time at Everton while speaking to Ben Foster, where he made an interesting claim about Royston Drenthe.
Royston Drenthe abused privileges at Everton
Well, it sounds as if the Dutchman took advantage of the facilities at Everton for personal gain.
Amazingly, Howard told Foster that Drenthe used to turn up at Finch Farm in the middle of the night with his friends to use the hot tub, treating the training ground as his own personal luxury.
Speaking on Fozcast, the American said: “One was horrific, Royston Drenthe. Rolls Royce to the training ground, always late, his eyes are half open. I guess he’d never heard of CCTV or something, he ends up coming to the training ground in the middle of the night with friends, and they’re in the hot tub.”
That is a remarkable claim, to say the least – what was Drenthe thinking?

It was obvious to all that the 35-year-old had talent during his time at Goodison Park, although that means nothing when the professionalism simply isn’t there.
Drenthe made 27 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees while on loan from Real Madrid in the 2011/12 campaign, scoring four goals while also providing seven assists.
Everton must avoid another Royston Drenthe
Of course, it can be tempting to take on a problematic player if they are capable of special things on the pitch.
However, Frank Lampard must ensure he avoids that temptation, and focuses on adding more hard workers such as Conor Coady and James Tarkowski to his squad.
Leaders like them are the sort of players who will take you in the right direction, as they set the tone for others to follow, whereas those like Drenthe will only cause issues around the club.
Hopefully, Lampard and Kevin Thelwell steer clear of bringing any troublesome players to Goodison Park, and do their homework before making future moves.
