Chris Powell told Sky Sports Football (06/04/21 at 9:55 pm) that Arsenal target, Emi Buendia, is the ‘Player of the Year’ in the Championship.
On Tuesday night, the super-talented playmaker provided three assists and scored himself as Norwich put a remarkable seven past Huddersfield.
That’s 15 assists for the 24-year-old this season, who has once again proven that he is too good for England’s second-tier amid speculation that Arsenal will put a bid in for him this summer, according to Eurosport.
After his hat-trick of assists on Tuesday, England assistant, Powell, waxed-lyrical about his talents.
“He’s some player,” said Powell. “You talk about Pukki and Cantwell. But Buendia, for me, is a Premier League player.
“Positionally for him, just drifting in off the sides, picking up the ball in such good areas. People never mark him. They never get close to him. And if they do then he’ll find a way out.
“He’s not only happy to score. He seems happier to assist – Buendia, for me, is the real cherry on top. Pukki will score the goals. But Buendia will score the goals and create the goals as well.
“He is a really intelligent player. They just understand each other. They understand space. They understand when to take more than one touch. But Buendia, for me, is the Championship Player of the Year.”

With the ability to pick out a pin-point pass in a darkened room, Buendia needs a bigger light shining on his talents and he will get that in the Premier League.
Norwich are destined to return to the elite given their 17-point lead at the top of the Championship table, but will the £40 million star be donning the colours of Norwich or Arsenal?
It does seem as though those from North London will go fishing for creative talent in the summer and dipping into the Championship pond might just be a wise, finically viable and the right move from Arsenal.
