Rangers fan Don Hutchison has raved about reported Celtic managerial target Chris Wilder and has defended him amid comments from Prince Abdullah on Twitter.
Former Scotland international midfielder Hutchison – who is a Rangers supporter, according to The Scottish Sun – is a fan of the work that Wilder did for Sheffield United.
Sheffield United News reported this month that Scottish Premiership giants Celtic are interested in appointing the 53-year-old as the permanent successor to Neil Lennon.
According to The Daily Star, Wilder will be offered the West Bromwich Albion job if Sam Allardyce leaves at the end of the season.
The Englishman recently left the Blades, who are in big danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
United owner Prince Abdullah has told Sky Sports that he did not want to fire Wilder, adding that the Englishman wanted £4 million to resign.
Wilder was superb for the Blades, taking the club from the lower leagues in England to the Premier League.
Things did not turn out well this season, but there is no doubt that the Englishman is a superb manager.

After losing the Scottish Premiership title to Rangers this season, Celtic need to rebuild, and it could take a while for them to get back to the high level they were under Brendan Rodgers.
Given Wilder’s experience of building the Blades and achieving success in the Premier League, he could be the man to take the Hoops back to their glory days.
