Furio Focolari has claimed on Radio Radio that Fabio Paratici will stop Tottenham Hotspur from signing Paulo Dybala in a free transfer when his Juventus contract expires this June.

Dybala will leave Turin at the end of the season after seven years with the Bianconeri as the Serie A side will not extend his deal. The two sides could not find an agreement on personal terms to remain together into the new campaign, so will part after lifting 12 titles together.

Juventus have won Serie A in all but one of Dybala’s seasons in black-and-white, after Inter Milan ended their dominance last term. And despite his eight goals and five assists over 21 games, the Old Lady are unlikely to win it this season as they trail AC Milan by seven points.

Juventus can at least overtake Inter into third-place with a win this Sunday when they meet in Turin. The clash could also see Dybala face the side he may join. Sky Italia note the San Siro natives are the only Serie A side in with a realistic shot at securing his signature.

Yet Dybala also risks pricing himself out of Inter Milan’s reach by demanding a €10m-a-year (£163k-a/w) net contract, including bonuses. Additionally, Calciomercato note the 28-year-old wants to join Atletico Madrid, where boss Diego Simeone is eager to secure his arrival.

Tottenham, too, are keen on Dybala’s transfer as a free agent once his Juventus contract expires. TuttoMercatoWEB reporter Giacomo Iacobellis notes Spurs have spoken with his agent, Jorge Antun, as they sound out the conditions for the €40m (£34m) star’s services.

Paratici will only sign Dybala on £65k-a-week Tottenham deal, Focolari claims

However, Italian journalist Focolari believes Paratici could prevent Tottenham from signing Dybala in a free transfer from Juventus. Having worked with the Argentine in Turin, Focolari feels the Spurs managing director will refuse to make an offer close to his wage demands.

“One like Dybala must be taken. Juve left him, and Inter must take him,” Focolari said, via Calciomercato.it. “Knowing Paratici’s idea on Dybala, he will never take him unless Dybala is satisfied with a salary of four million euros (£65k-a/w). But he will never do it.”

It will surely be near-on impossible for Paratici to convince Dybala to sign a contract in the region of £100k-a-week less than the Juventus star wants for Tottenham to secure his free transfer this summer. Especially given the level of rival interest Antun can use in any talks.
