Oliver McBurnie was left stunned by Tottenham Hotspur getting a VAR decision in their favour against Leicester City on Sunday, as posted on Twitter.

Early in the second half of the Premier League game between Tottenham and Leicester at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, James Maddison had the ball in the back of the net.

The English midfielder appeared to have been played onside by Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier. However, VAR ruled that Maddison’s shoulder/sleeve was in an offside position.

Sheffield United striker McBurnie was following the match, and the 24-year-old – who cost the Blades £20 million in transfer fee when they signed him from Swansea City in the summer of 2019, as reported by BBC Sport – could not believe that VAR ruled that Maddison was offside.

Match Stats

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, hosts Tottenham had 56% of the possession, took eight shots of which three were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Leicester had 44% of the possession, took 17 shots of which four were on target, and earned three corners, according to BBC Sport.
