The Dutch international has been in good form, but playing sparingly.
Dutch international boss Danny Blind has been bemoaning his goalkeeper situation, with many of his preferred options currently not playing regular first-team football.
Japser Cillesen is currently warming the bench at Barcelona whilst Maarten Stekelenburg has lost his first-team place at Everton. Tim Krul is only just returning from injury and Tottenham Hotspur goalie Michel Vorm is also a concern.
Tottenham’s Michel Vorm
Blind told Studio Voetbal this week that he was very pleased with Vorm’s form, but that he is simply not playing regularly enough at White Hart Lane:
“With the keepers I have a problem. (Jeroen) Zoet is the only one who plays regularly. Michel Vorm plays really good, but is only just playing in the FA Cup.”
Vorm has undoubtedly played well when called upon by Spurs this season. However, the Dutch stopper is not playing often enough. He has club captain and French superstar Hugo Lloris for competition, so is going to struggle in a fight for first-team football.
Michel Vorm representing Holland
The 33-year-old has played just eight times this season for Spurs, but seems content in his role as back-up to Lloris.
He considers himself a valuable member of the squad and is likely to feel he deserves a place in the Netherlands set-up anyway.
His last appearance for his country came against Brazil in a 3-0 win at the World Cup in July 2014.
The Tottenham star will no doubt be hoping to add to his 15 caps with the national team.
