David Raya has established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal, and I was not surprised to see him start against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arsenal signed David Raya from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the summer transfer window.
David Raya started for Arsenal vs Manchester City
While Aaron Ramsdale started the season as the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal, Raya is now starting regularly between the posts for the Gunners.
The 28-year-old started for Arsenal against defending Premier League champions City on Sunday.
The Spain international goalkeeper did not look very comfortable in the first half.

Raya was shaky and was not particularly great with his passing from the back.
The Spaniard did look nervous many times.
Perhaps the occasion got to him at the start of the match.
Piers Morgan’s verdict on David Raya
After all, Manchester City are (arguably?) the best team in England and are a pressing machine.
City came to North London to pick up all three points from the match.
Arsenal fan and TV presenter Piers Morgan has given his take on Raya.
Morgan is not happy at all with Raya’s performance in the first half, as you can see from his tweet below.
