Collin Morikawa has gone through some really challenging times over the past two months.
Morikawa burst out of the blocks in 2026, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and following that up with top-10 finishes at the Genesis Invitational and the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
However, things took a turn for the worse for the 29-year-old at The Players Championship in March.
Collin Morikawa suffered a back injury at TPC Sawgrass on only his second hole of the tournament.

And that back injury is clearly still bothering him at Aronimink ahead of the PGA Championship this week.
Morikawa described his back issue as a ‘very weird feeling’ while speaking to the press on Tuesday at Aronimink.
Now, the 29-year-old’s problem is beginning to be a real concern, according to Johnson Wagner.
Big concern for Collin Morikawa at Aronimink
Morikawa has actually performed quite well while dealing with his back problem, with top-10 finishes at The Masters and the RBC Heritage.
The 29-year-old has been swinging at around 80% power at most, but he can’t carry on like this, can he?
Wagner was speaking about Morikawa’s back issue on the Golf on CBS show.
He responded when asked what he makes of the two-time major champion’s current problem.

“I mean it seems like it’s going on a long time, it’s worrying,“ Wagner said.
“I watched him hit a bunch of chip shots just outside earlier. I mean, he’s walking gingerly.
“I’m concerned. I mean, this is not something you mess around with.“
Collin Morikawa’s seriously concerning back issue
Morikawa’s current situation is definitely concerning.
The really worrying thing is that he may actually feel fine now physically, but he is struggling mentally with the thought of his back giving way again.
Anyone who has experienced a bad back will tell you that getting over it really isn’t a straightforward process.
You end up compensating for your back issue by putting extra weight and strain on other parts of your body.
Sometimes you develop a limp that can carry on even when your back is fully healed.
There really is nothing like a bad back. They are notoriously difficult to overcome.
Hopefully Collin Morikawa shows signs that he is a lot healthier this week at Aronimink, because the longer this problem goes on, the harder it will be to overcome.
