Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has been speaking to the press in India recently about his hopes to become a coach one day. He is visiting the country to watch an ISL fixture this month and is currently on the path to obtaining his Pro License from UEFA.

He was asked which teams and managers he currently enjoys watching. Whilst there were honorably mentions for Manchester City and Napoli, the first name and team to come out of his mouth were Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspur. He told Scroll:

“I like watching Tottenham. Pochettino has done a great job.

“It’s not just about individuals, it’s about teams as well.”

Vidic, a Manchester United legend, mentioned nothing of his former club to this question – suggesting he is far more fond of the football that Tottenham are currently playing under the Argentine.

It is the way that Poch has the whole team at Spurs beating to the same drum which makes Tottenham such a potent entity.

In fact, they remind many of the brilliant Sir Alex Ferguson teams he had with Manchester United, of which Vidic was a part of.

Tottenham and Pochettino will hope they can continue to have legends of rival clubs purring over their footballing antics.
