Toby Alderweireld could leave Tottenham Hotspur for £25 million this summer.

Nemanja Vidic has said that he would like Toby Alderweireld at Manchester United, but admitted that the Tottenham Hotspur defender shouldn’t be a priority.
Tottenham activated a one-year contract extension for Alderweireld to tie him down until 2020.
But in doing so, Spurs also included a release clause which means that he could be sold for as little as £25 million this summer.
The Belgium international said this week that he was unsure of whether he’d be staying in North London [Sky Sports].
The Red Devils are repeatedly linked with the 30-year-old [The Sun] and despite Vidic being a fan, the former United rock believes that his old side have more pressing positions to address this summer.
“Of course, I would like to see him [Alderweireld] there,” Vidic told Stadium Astro. “But I think the club has to have a priority.
“What I see is, if you want to be in the Champions League next season and challenge for the Premier League, you have to strengthen the midfield. You need that depth in the midfield area. In defence they already have five players, so they can rotate, and it seems like they’re doing well.”
Alderweireld’s failure to offer a concrete committal on his Spurs future is a big red flag, it has to be said.
But the North Londoners are still in the Champions League and if Mauricio Pochettino’s side can somehow win the competition, it might go some way to convincing the former Southampton and Atletico Madrid star to sign a new deal.
