According to the Daily Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are attempting to sign Nelson Semedo from Barcelona.
Spurs want the £30 million-rated right-back and he would be a huge upgrade on Kieran Trippier.
Trippier has been poor at Spurs this season, and he looks set to leave White Hart Lane in the summer.
The England international, by his own admission, has been completely out of form since the World Cup and Tottenham now need to sign a right-back as a matter of urgency.
Serge Aurier has looked erratic when he has played, and Kyle Walker-Peters is very inexperienced.
Semedo, though, would immediately become one of the Premier League’s best full-backs upon his arrival at Tottenham.
The right-back is blessed with searing pace, and his ability going forward makes him a major threat.
With Mauricio Pochettino’s system at Tottenham demanding that his full-backs show great energy, Semedo could be an ideal fit.
And Spurs would be so much better next season with Semedo in their team rather than Trippier.
