Nelly Korda has a real chance of completing the calendar Grand Slam after winning the first two majors of the year, according to Karen Stupples.
Korda is now a four-time major champion after winning the US Women’s Open this past week at Riviera. The world number one emerged from the congested leaderboard to get across the line and lift the title for the first time in her career.
It was another superb performance from the 27-year-old, particularly as Korda was far from her best in the Pacific Palisades.
And given that she also lifted the Chevron Championship earlier this year, it is no surprise that some are now wondering whether the US Women’s Open will be her last major win of 2026.
Nelly Korda backed to potentially win all five majors in 2026
Korda has finished outside the top two on just one occasion this season. She also won the next major, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, back in 2021.
And speaking on the Sky Sports Golf Podcast, Stupples suggested that, with a bit of luck, Korda could have an amazing opportunity to win all five majors.

“Well, this is the interesting equation. I think KPMG, the next one up, is at Hazeltine. I think she can definitely win around that golf course. I think that will set up very nicely for her, actually, and she should probably be the favourite for that,” she said.
“But then you go to Evian. And I think she can play well at Evian too, but it’s just awkward and a little quirky at times, that golf course.
“But the biggest one, I think, is Lytham, and you know links golf. It’s anybody’s game on a links golf course, really, because you can get luck of the draw coming into play with the weather conditions. You’ve got bunkers that just come out and pop up and get you at Lytham. It just is the most bunkered golf course I’ve ever seen and I seem to find every single last one of them, but it’s miserable when you’re in them because there’s no recovery. If you’re in a fairway bunker, it’s just, oh, well, I’ll just make a bogey and just move on. And then you’re hoping just to make bogey.
“So, it’s hard to say. I think that’s the one that really is the toss up for me.”
The US Women’s Open win will prove to be a hugely significant moment in Nelly Korda’s career
Korda has never finished higher than eighth at The Evian Championship. Meanwhile, she has only registered one top five finish at the Women’s British Open.
Whatever happens, she can be very content with her year already. Four victories including two majors is a phenomenal achievement, particularly as Korda did not win once in 2025.
It was clear to see what her latest victory meant to her. And Stupples explained just how important winning her national open would have been to Korda.
“Oh, no question about it, it absolutely is relief,” she said. “As American golfers go, there’s one golfer that stands out called Nancy Lopez, who was the darling of American golf, and didn’t actually win a US Women’s Open. And if you’re an American golfer, you don’t want to go through your golfing career keeping trying, or even Phil Mickelson. You can even go down that path too, because it’s the one that they all want to win and now she’s done it.
“So I think there’s a little bit of freedom that we’ll see from Nelly coming up, but also, I think that she’s got more goals to do. I mean, the majors are all important to her and she wants to check off every single one of them.”
It would be one of sport’s greatest achievements if Korda could win all five majors this year.
But there is surely no doubt at all that it is simply a matter of time before she completes the Career Grand Slam.
