Nelly Korda was one of several big names to feature at the highly enjoyable Grant Thornton Invitational.

This year’s event was held at the Tiburon Golf Club, where Andrew Novak and Lauren Coughlin claimed victory.

The duo carded a 28-under-par score across the Florida-based tournament, which brings together players from both the PGA and LPGA Tours.

Korda finished tied for second, alongside her playing partner Denny McCarthy.

Even though they did not come out on top, both Korda and McCarthy spoke positively about their pairing at the event.

When questioned about their climb up the leaderboard on Sunday, McCarthy responded: “I’ll start. I think right now we’re both a little frustrated just because we’re both very competitive and like to win.

“We know we probably left some shots out there. But playing with her is always a treat. I like her caddie a lot, Jay [Jason McDede]. He’s great.

“My caddie gets along with him great. Just so much fun being out there with them and competing. Her game is phenomenal.

“I learned a lot three years ago, I continue to learn a lot from her playing with her the last three days. We just had a lot of fun.”

Korda answered by saying: “Yeah, same for us, same for me. I mean, Jay and I have so much fun with Denny and Derek [Smith].

“It was so nice to kind of get the band back together and team up again. But I have so much respect for Denny and his game.

“I became a huge fan three years ago. Jay and I follow him. I know Jay’s been out to watch him at a couple events, too.

“Yeah, this week is so special in growing the game, but also creating great relationships. And I’m a lifelong fan. And same as Denny said, you learn so much from each other and hopefully that continues to build.”

Andrew Novak jokes about modern-day grand slam before Grant Thornton Invitational win

Fans enjoyed plenty of excitement at Tiburon Golf Club, where Korda and McCarthy finished three shots off the pace.

The pair joined Jennifer Kupcho and Chris Gotterup, along with Charley Hull and Michael Brennan, in a tie for second place.

Coughlin and Novak emerged as the winners, with Novak making a joke before the event about chasing what he called a “modern-day grand slam.”

His comment was in reference to his win at the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the only team event on the PGA Tour.
