LPGA Tour superstar Nelly Korda went up against YouTube sensation Grant Horvat in a head-to-head match in Florida this week.

Korda is one of the standout names in women’s golf and is often seen as the best in the world when she’s playing her best. Meanwhile, Horvat, who plays off plus four, has built a huge following online over the last few years.

Horvat started with a five-under score, while Korda was at even par. They played from the same tees throughout the round. But by the end of 18 holes, Korda had pulled level at five-under, making up all five shots to tie it up.

Korda then edged out Horvat in a play-off. There’s been plenty of debate on social media recently about whether scratch handicap male golfers could beat her.

This win should put that question to rest. Coming back from five shots down to beat him made quite a statement.

During their round, Horvat mentioned the idea of Korda teaming up with someone to take on him and Phil Mickelson. He asked who she would choose as a partner for that match-up.

Korda answered: “Against you and Phil, oh Scottie, that’s a good one, that would be fun. Would you guys get shots?” Horvat replied: “No, we’re 4-0 though.” Korda then said: “Scottie, let’s take them.”

Whether or not you’re into YouTube golf, the idea of Korda and Scheffler taking on Horvat and Mickelson is one many would love to see.

How Nelly Korda and Grant Horvat compare off the tee

Korda showed her class by shooting five-under par, while Horvat finished with an even-par 72. But who had the edge in driving distance?

Korda mentioned she carries her driver about 250 yards, with rollout taking it to around 270. Horvat, on the other hand, flies his drives 275 yards through the air and gets rollout up to about 290. So while Horvat does have more length off the tee, Korda is clearly a more complete player overall.
