Neil Warnock has said that he doubts Leeds United target Viktor Gyokeres will stay at Coventry City next season.

While it was recently reported that Victor Orta is not prioritizing the signing of the £25 million-rated striker, he has been linked with a switch to Elland Road for a number of months at this point. After all, it was claimed until recently that Javi Gracia’s side were planning to submit a £14 million bid to sign the Swede.

If Leeds do continue to push for the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres, they would be delighted to hear Neil Warnock doubts that he will stay at Coventry City.

The ‘fantastic’ forward has been ripping the Championship to shreds throughout the season with an impressive 15 goals and 5 assists to his name in 32 starts.

Leeds would be happy to hear that Neil Warnock does not think that target Viktor Gyokeres will stay at Coventry City in the summer.

“I think he’s the best in the league. I tried to sign him a couple of times for Cardiff. No disrespect to Mark (Robins) but I doubt he’ll be there next season”, he said, as quoted by Coventry Live.

Gyokeres in, Bamford out?

Javi Gracia himself admitted that he was open to the idea of both Patrick Bamford and Georginio Rutter starting in tandem against Chelsea.

If the Leeds boss is as welcoming of the idea of a two-striker system, perhaps the declining Englishman could be replaced for Viktor Gyokeres, who would likely leave Coventry City join Leeds if they are still in the Premier League, as Neil Warnock seemingly implied about his future.

With both frontmen possessing skill and a physical presence, it could make for a lethal partnership, if a move does get over the line.
