Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier has been superb for England at the Euro 2016 finals in France so far.
Former Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock spoke highly of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Eric Dier on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, June 24).
Dier, who is just 22 years of age and can play as a defender or as a midfielder, has been superb for England at the Euro 2016 finals in France so far.
The former Sporting Lisbon youngster has looked very calm and composed in defensive midfield for the Three Lions and has probably been England’s best player so far at the 2016 European Championship.
Former Crystal Palace and Rotherham United boss Warnock has been impressed with the way Dier has played for Roy Hodgson’s side so far.
“He looks like he plays in carpet slippers with a cigar in,” said Warnock about Dier on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, June 24).
Dier has scored one goal and created two chances in three matches for England at the Euro 2016 finals in France so far.
The Tottenham midfielder has a pass accuracy of 89% and a shot accuracy of 25%, and has won six headers, two dribbles and three tackles.
The youngster scored three goals and created 18 chances in 37 Premier League matches for Spurs last season.
Dier had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 33%, and won 84 headers, eight dribbles and 64 tackles.
