The new Premier League season is upon us, and everyone is having a go at predicting how the campaign will finish up.
One team that are tough to predict this term is Leeds United.
The Whites are a very intriguing team heading into this season.
It’s the Yorkshire club’s first full post-Marcelo Bielsa season, they’ve spent massive money on overhauling their squad, but at the same time, they’ve sold two of their best players and they narrowly avoided relegation last term.
Leeds could finish anywhere from the top-half to the bottom three, and former Whites boss Neil Warnock has now had a go at predicting where he thinks the Elland Road outfit will finish this term.
Warnock has Leeds down as finishing 14th, and that’s probably a fair prediction.
Jesse Marsch’s side were wholly unconvincing last season, and after losing Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha, there’s reason to believe they may be in the bottom half once again this term.
However, a number of exciting additions combined with the fact that a few other teams down that end of the table have regressed may see Leeds’ position improve this term.
Of course, a 14th-placed finish wouldn’t see Leeds hit the heights of that 2020/21 season, but this is a different team and 14th would be a more than respectable finish.
It’s almost impossible to predict anything in this Premier League, but it’s certainly not outrageous to suggest that Leeds will be in and around where Warnock expects them to be.
