Nicklas Bendtner joined Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
Former Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers manager Neil Warnock said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, September 9, 2016) that Nicklas Bendtner will not find it easy in the Championship.
Bendtner recently joined Championship club Forest on a free transfer. The 28-year-old Denmark international striker has signed a two-year contract with the Reds.
The former Arsenal striker was available on a free transfer after his contract with German club VfL Wolfsburg was terminated in April 2016, as reported by Sky Sports.
Former Crystal Palace and Rotherham United boss Warnock has warned Bendtner that he needs to prove himself in the Championship.
Warnock has claimed that the Forest striker will not find it easy to play against Championship defenders.
“I know it sounds silly, but he has got to prove himself in the Championship,” said Warnock on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (broadcast from 6am, September 9, 2016). “He won’t get any favours with the centre-halves at this level now, and he has got to work hard.”
Bendtner struggled during his spell at Wolfsburg, scoring just nine goals in 47 appearances, according to Sky Sports.
The Denmark international scored 45 goals for Arsenal in 171 games between 2005 and 2014, according to BBC Sport.
Forest will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Aston Villa away from home at Villa Park in the Championship.
The Reds are 12th in the league table at the moment with nine points from five matches.
