Former Leeds boss expects supporters to travel well for fixture against his Cardiff City side.
Former Leeds United manager Neil Warnock is excited for this week’s fixture against his Cardiff City side.
Cardiff and Leeds sit level on 20 points at the top of the Championship along with Wolves ahead of tomorrow night’s fixture.
Warnock is backing Leeds supporters to make the atmosphere a special night.
He told The Mail: “It’s going to be a great atmosphere. We’ve got 21,000 fans already in and I’m hoping with this result it’s going to be 25,000. They’ll bring a full contingent and it will be buzzing.”
He added that he was still frustrated his time at Leeds was in different circumstances.
“‘It’s a fabulous club, I really enjoyed myself there but it was in difficult circumstances.
“The wrong place at the wrong time — and the wrong chairman.”
Warnock was appointed at Leeds by Ken Bates and managed the club between 2012 and 2013.
He was there as Leeds had the ill fated GFH takeover, and after a turbulent Massimo Cellino reign, the Whites are now on steady ground with Andrea Radrizzani taking over this summer
Cardiff won 2-1 away at Sunderland at the weekend while Leeds beat Ipswich Town 3-2 at Elland Road.
Warnock, 68, took over at Cardiff last year with the club in the bottom half of the table, and they can make a real statement by beating Leeds in front of a packed crowd this week.
