Warnock is impressed by the job Rangers boss Mark Warburton has done at Ibrox.

Rangers’ apparent title hopes in the Scottish Premiership were put in perspective last weekend, as they were spanked in the Old Firm derby by Celtic.
It was clear on the day that there is a massive gulf in class between Rangers and Celtic at present and that a title tilt from Rangers would be a massive task.
Expectation was always set to be high for the Glasgow club after the success that Mark Warburton had at Ibrox last term.
But former Sheffield United and QPR boss Neil Warnock has been speaking to talkSPORT about the Glasgow club this morning (14/09/16) and he feels they should now forget about their title chances:
“Five years from going down to where they’ve been. It is hard for them.
“I think Warburton’s done a really good job. I think he should just steady the ship now and not worry too much about all the (title) talk.”

He also believes finishing second will be a fantastic achievement for Wabrurton’s men, but insists Aberdeen may have their say on the matter:
“Just get steady in the Premier League, have a good season, and be pushing.
“I think if Rangers can get second position it will be fantastic for them this season, but Aberdeen will have something to say about that.”
Rangers fans were right to be optimistic at the start of the season after the Glasgow club’s dominance of the Scottish Championship and positive results against Scottish Premiership clubs in the Scottish Cup.

But Rangers, who are still operating on a tight budget, have found life in the top-flight more difficult then they might have expected and title chances now look slim.
Rangers fans know this is still a rebuilding process. If they could make their way into Europe this season, have a cup run and maybe pick up a good result in the next Old Firm derby then perhaps the season will be classed as a success in Glasgow.
