Aston Villa appointed Dean Smith as their new manager earlier this month.

Aston Villa defender Neil Taylor has told the club’s official website that he has been impressed with Dean Smith’s training sessions so far.
Villa sacked Steve Bruce earlier this month after a terrible run of form, and brought in Dean Smith as his replacement from Championship rivals Brentford.
Smith took charge of his first game as Villa boss, and saw Tammy Abraham score the only goal of the game to beat Swansea City 1-0.
Much has been made of Smith being a boyhood Villa fan, but that is doing him something of a disservice, as he is also a very impressive manager, who impressed in charge of both Walsall and Brentford.
Gone are the days of Bruce’s negative, direct football, and Smith is expected to supply an attractive brand of football, which has excited fans off the bat.
Fans are hoping to see an instant improvement, and that all starts on the training ground, where Smith will be hoping to get his ideas over to the Villa squad quickly.

Now, one player brought to Villa by Bruce – left back Neil Taylor – has told the club’s official website that he thinks Smith’s training sessions have been ‘really good’ – and praised his ideas in the process.
“The sessions have been really good,” said Taylor. “I’ve obviously played under a number of managers in my career, being a bit older. But his sessions are good and his ideas are good.” he added.
