The Aston Villa left-back has impressed in recent weeks.

Aston Villa are enjoying a much-needed resurgence in the Championship, with their latest victory taking them up to eighth in the table, just two points outside the play-off places.

Some obvious names have received plenty of praise for this upturn in form, not least Albert Adomah, who has been outstanding since returning from the cold, summer signing John Terry and youngster Keinan Davis. But there is another player who deserves credit in the form of Neil Taylor.

The Villa left-back has been superb in recent games, forming a highly effective understanding with wingers Adomah and Robert Snodgrass and playing a sizable role in recent wins.

Taylor was at it again when Villa tore Burton Albion apart this week, and the former Swansea City defender had arguably his best game in claret and blue.

He may not be scoring the goals, bossing the midfield or rolling back the years as Terry is alongside him, yet Taylor is vital to this Villa side and his manager Steve Bruce knows that better than anyone.

The 28-year-old has been an ever-present for Villa this season, struggling through the opening games before finding his feet in impressive fashion.

You would expect nothing less from a 39-capped international with plenty of top flight experience to boot, but he deserves credit for the turnaround and looks set to be a mainstay for Villa this season.
