Redfearn warns Leeds United over their loan players.
Neil Redfearn has warned Leeds United that clubs could come in for their loan players in the January transfer window, citing Pontus Jansson as one they should worry about.
Redfearn was speaking on Radio Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Football Show on Wednesday evening at 6pm, and voiced his concern over the negatives that the club’s recent positive form could bring.
Leeds are up to ninth place in the table, one point off the play-offs, but part of their success has been due to the form of loan duo Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson, as well as playmaker Pablo Hernandez and winger Hadi Sacko.

Redfearn said: “The problem with people on loan, is that they are in the shop window. It’s just £3.5m for Jansson. Dont think they aren’t looking, some of these Premier League sides, it’s small potatoes to them.”
The Express report Leeds have a clause in their loan deal allowing them to buy Jansson for a fee of £3.6 million.
This will be able to be activated once he has played 20 games for the club. With 11 under his belt already, Leeds could well get to the transfer window with Jansson already acquired.

If he plays in every game, then the 20th match will be the Boxing Day clash against Preston, with a 21st three days later against Aston Villa.
It is unclear whether there are specific clauses in the deal which gives Leeds exclusivity over his future, and whether Torino would consider higher offers from other clubs, or if their loan with Leeds can be broken in order to sell him.
Similar questions remain over the terms of Kyle Bartley’s loan, and if Premier League sides are serious, then no doubt they will explore the situations, but both players appear committed to Leeds for now.
Redfearn’s comments do underline an importance as to how crucial it is that the club get both signed up permanently.
