Leeds United lost against Barnsley in the Championship on Saturday evening.
Former Rotherham United manager Neil Redfearn has told TV Yorkshire that Leeds United missed Pontus Jansson against Barnsley on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds suffered a 3-2 defeat to Barnsley away from home at Oakwell in the Championship.
Chris Wood put the Whites in the lead after just 18 minutes, but Tom Bradshaw equalised for the home team on the stroke of half time.
Ryan Kent and Conor Hourihane scored in the opening minutes of the second period to make it 3-1 to Barnsley.
Wood reduced the deficit for Leeds midway through the second half from the penalty spot, but it finished 3-2 in favour of the hosts.
Former Leeds and Rotherham manager Redfearn believes that Garry Monk’s side missed Pontus Jansson against Barnsley.
Jansson missed the match on Saturday due to suspension. The 25-year-old centre-back, who joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Torino in the summer transfer window, also sat out the last game against Derby County, but he will be available for Wednesday evening’s match against Nottingham Forest at Elland Road.
“I thought Pontus Jansson was badly missed today,” Redfearn told TV Yorkshire.
Leeds are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 48 points from 27 matches.
