Chris Wood has been one of the Leeds United’s best players this season; in fact, the striker could even claim to be the best footballer at Leeds at the moment.
The New Zealand international has scored 26 goals and provided four assists for the Whites in the Championship so far this campaign.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed a very prolific season, and given Leeds’s failure to finish in the top six of the Championship, one should not be surprised if Premier League clubs come calling.
According to Calciomercato, West Ham United and Everton are interested in signing Wood in the summer transfer window (click here to read more).
Former Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn has suggested that the ex-West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City striker is good enough to play in the Premier League.
Redfearn has claimed that Premier League clubs should be looking to sign Wood in the summer.
“For me, if I was a Premier League club looking at Leeds, I’d try my hardest to try and get [Wood] because what you’ve got is the perfect build for a lone striker, he’s mobile, gets about,” Inside Futbol quotes Redfearn as saying. “His general game has got 100 per cent better, his touch is good, he brings people into the game.”
Leeds will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Wigan Athletic away from home at the DW Stadium in their final Championship game of the season.
