The former Whites boss is in no doubt about who has been his old side’s main man this term.

Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn has told Radio Yorkshire that the only man who could win the club’s player of the season award this year is Chris Wood.
The Whites have been enjoying a stellar first season under Garry Monk and currently sit pretty in fourth place, although they are nine points off an automatic promotion spot.
Key to their success has undoubtedly been Wood. The New Zealander has been a key man for Leeds for some time, but his runs of good form have too often been cut short by injury troubles.
Not this season. The 25-year-old has already beaten his appearance tally for last term, and has scored 25 goals in 38 games in all competitions.
With 22 league goals he is the Championship’s top scorer, and unsurprisingly Redfearn believes he is a shoo-in for Leeds’ end-of-year gong.
Redfearn told Radio Yorkshire on Thursday: “I think there have been some good performances this season, but there is only one man who could win it – Chris Wood.
“If you take what he does out of it, the whole job looks a lot different. He has found the back of the net when things have been tight, when the transformation and changes were taking place and it was a bit wobbly.
“He found the net when they needed him to and that is the hallmark of a top striker who can do it under pressure, and he has done it all season.”
Everyone associated with Leeds will be praying that Wood can maintain his fitness through to the end of the season as they look to make this the year that they finally seal their long-awaited return to the Premier League.
The Whites host QPR on Saturday knowing that they have to win if they want to stay ahead of the outside promotion chasers and keep up the pressure on Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town and the top two.
