Leeds United are third in the Championship thanks to a fine start to the new season.
Neil Redfearn has told TV Yorkshire that there is plenty more to come from Leeds United this season.
Thomas Christiansen’s side beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 at the City Ground on Saturday for what was their third win in five Championship outings, scoring seven and conceding twice.
In doing so, Leeds, who narrowly missed out on the playoffs last season, are third in the Championship and two points adrift of an automatic promotion spot.
Early days but it’s a encouraging start to the season under Christiansen, who replaced Garry Monk in the summer, and former manager Redfearn believes this form is just a taste of things to come from the Whites, who have also scored nine in two Carabao Cup games.
He told TV Yorkshire, after being asked whether there was more to come: “Oh yeah I think so. I think we’re just scratching the surface at the minute.
“The more they get used to one another as a team, the more confidence they’ll get and I think we’ll see an even better Leeds United.”
It’s been a phenomenal start but Leeds fans might be hesitant to dream about the Premier League just yet.
They have had their hopes dashed on too many occasions – especially last season when it seemed impossible they would finish outside the top six, but then won only once in their last eight games – and many will be taking the current form with a pinch of salt.
It’s an unforgiving division where you can enjoy great spells just as easily as teams can enjoy rotten spells, and supporters may not dare to dream until they see how the players cope when things aren’t going particularly well.
