Neil Redfearn said on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (broadcast from 6pm, September 30, 2016) that Leeds United summer signing Hadi Sacko excites him.

Sacko, who can play as a winger, attacking midfielder or striker, joined Leeds on a season-long loan deal from Sporting Lisbon in the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old has established himself as an important player for the West Yorkshire outfit already.

The former France Under-20 international attacker has scored one goal and created 10 chances in 10 Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

Former Leeds head coach Redfearn has said that he has been impressed by Sacko.

The former Rotherham United manager, though, has highlighted an area where the youngster can improve.

“To be fair, I like the boy Sacko,” said Redfearn on The Noel Whelan Show on BBC Radio Leeds on Friday evening (broadcast from 6pm, September 30, 2016). “He really excites me. He has got this ability to get Leeds up the pitch quickly and he goes past people.

“I would just like to see him every now and again when he goes past the full-back, rather than just cross, I would like to see him get right in the box and start picking people out.”

Leeds are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 13 points from 10 matches.

The West Yorkshire outfit are just four points behind sixth-placed Bristol City and are very much in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Garry Monk’s side will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Barnsley at Elland Road in the Championship.
