Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack is reportedly wanted by Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United are interested in signing Ross McCormack from Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Leeds have asked Championship rivals Villa about the 31-year-old Scotland international striker.

Sunderland, who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, are also claimed to be interested in the former Rangers man.

McCormack was on the books of Leeds from 2010 until 2014 before he made the switch to Fulham, who are also playing in the Championship this season.

The 31-year-old was a success at Elland Road, scoring 58 goals in four seasons for the Whites, according to The Daily Mail.

The Scotland international would be a good signing for Leeds, but would the West Yorkshire outfit be able to afford his wages?

According to a report in The Daily Mail in January 2017, McCormack earns £45,000 per week at Villa.

Former Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn has given his take on speculation linking McCormack with a return to the Whites in the summer transfer window.

“I think he would yes,” Inside Futbol quotes Redfearn as saying about McCormack potentially returning to Leeds. “I think he would come back. But what he is on is a ridiculous amount.”
