Neil Redfearn predicts Leeds and Huddersfield will contest promotion.
Former Leeds United manager Neil Redfearn
Former Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn is backing his old club to make the play-off final at Wembley next month.
The Whites have lost their last two games and are looking nervously over their shoulders heading into the final six matches of the regular season.
Despite this Redfearn remains positive about their chances of winning promotion to the Premier League.
Speaking to Radio Yorkshire on Wednesday evening (5/4), Redfearn gave his prediction for how the play-offs would shake up.
He said: “Preston will miss out. Sheffield Wednesday will miss out. Fulham will be in there. It’ll be between Leeds and Huddersfield who goes up.”
Sheffield Wednesday Manager Carlos Carvalhal
Sheffield Wednesday are currently in sixth place ahead of Fulham, possessing a two point gap after a turnaround in results on Tuesday night.
Preston are five points out in eighth, but they can haul themselves into contention if they win away to Leeds United this coming weekend.
An away win would really have Leeds feeling worried, with the Whites faint hopes of automatic promotion gone after their losses to Reading and Brentford.
