Former Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has praised the performances of Leeds youngster Alex Purver out on loan at Guiseley.
Leeds sent the midfielder out on loan to the National League side in August until the start of January.
The 20-year-old was signed to try and pick up Guiseley’s form after a terrible start to the season. There is no doubt performances have improved – with two wins on the bounce this month.
One such game was a 6-1 win over York City in the week – in which Purver scored.
He put in a great performance and Redfearn was certainly impressed with the performance of the talented Leeds United loanee.

Redfearn had this to say on Radio Yorkshire, as quoted by Inside Futbol:
“I thought Alex Purver again had a great game.
“He didn’t play as the sitting one [in midfield], that’s his position.
“He sort of played on the right of the three, got forward and made things happen.
“And the game was really won and lost in midfield.”
Of course the former Leeds head-coach also has a keen eye for a talented youngster.
He brought through talents such as Kalvin Phillips and Lewie Coyle to the Leeds first-team and worked with Charlie Taylor, Lewis Cook and Alex Mowatt in the Leeds youth-team.
Purver, at 20-years-old, has an uphill battle to break into the Leeds team in the years to come. But if he can continue to impress at his current club he gives himself every chance.
