The Leeds United boss has been discussing a busy January transfer window for the club.

Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn has held his weekly press conference today ahead of the club’s meeting with Brentford on Saturday.

The club go into the game in a rich vein of form. The Yorkshire side are unbeaten in four and have won their last two games.

But they know they will have to be on top form to get the better of promotion chasing Brentford at Elland Road this weekend – who Redfearn has high praise for:

They also go into the game post transfer deadline day. It was a day of departures and arrivals at Leeds. David Norris was released by the club by mutual consent while Edgar Cani arrived from Catania on loan. The likes of Jason Pearce, Michael Tonge, Stephen Warnock and Noel Hunt also left in the January window and Redfearn has paid tribute to those players.

The Leeds boss declared himself happy with the transfer window, clearly pleased at the arrivals of Sol Bamba, Granddi Ngoyi and Cani. But admits that when the loan window reopens a wide man will remain a priority.

On the subject of transfers one player who nearly left on deadline day was Rudolph Austin. The Jamaican was reportedly the subject of a £500,000 bid from Wigan Athletic, which prompted Leeds to release an official statement to claim the 29-year-old was not for sale.

And Redfearn has praised the impact Austin has on the young players at the club:

Leeds fans will be hoping the assembled squad can keep up their recent form and continue to pull away from the Championship relegation battle.
