The Spaniard played a tremendous pass for Leeds’ first goal.
Leeds United took on Burton Albion in the Championship yesterday afternoon and ended up winning the game 2-0 at Elland Road.
It was yet another hard-fought win from Leeds and one which could have gone either way.
In the end Leeds simply had the better quality in the final third, with one man in particular proving the difference. Pablo Hernandez has been an inspired signing and the former Spanish international played through the pass that saw Burton give away a penalty for Leeds’ first goal.

One man very impressed with the pass was former Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn. He had this to say to TV Yorkshire about the game yesterday:
“Leeds had that bit of quality when they needed it. A good example of that was the ball through from Pablo Hernandez for the first goal which was not in-keeping with this division.
“It was an international class ball which set Doukara through and he did ever so well to get round the keeper and get brought down.”

There is no doubt that Hernandez has added a little bit of quality to the Leeds team that they have perhaps lacked in recent seasons.
His form has been a key factor in the club’s rise up the Championship table.
Leeds are now ninth in the league and just one point off the play-offs. Winning the tough games like this is what might give them a chance of making the top six this season.
