The 25-year-old impressed for Leeds United again this week.
Neil Redfearn has told TV Yorkshire that Leeds United defender Kyle Bartley deserves a “special mention” for his rock-solid defending for the club this season.
The 25-year-old, on a season-long loan from Swansea City, played another 120 minutes last night as Leeds ultimately edged out Norwich City on penalties at Elland Road to reach the quarter-final of the League Cup.
The big centre-back has now started and finished 17 of the Whites’ 18 games in all competitions, which is quite an achievement considering Garry Monk’s side have been more or less had games every three or four days since August.
The former Arsenal man looked in good form again against the Canaries, and Redfearn has singled out the defender for special praise in an interview with TV Yorkshire.
He said: “Special mention to Kyle Bartley. I don’t think he’s missed a game this season. The guy must be made out of granite because he seems to churn out these performances week after week.”
Bartley perhaps proved that he does not only perform alongside the hugely popular Pontus Jansson in the heart of Leeds’ defence, after being paired with Liam Cooper last night, and it bodes very well for United that they have a defender so reliable both in terms of performances and availability.
Monk’s side, who host Burton Albion on Saturday, are three points adrift of the playoff places at the moment.
