Leeds United won against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the Championship on Saturday evening.

Neil Redfearn has told Radio Yorkshire that Leeds United’s performance against Sunderland in the Championship on Saturday evening was “outstanding”.

Leeds returned to winning ways in the league with a 2-0 victory over the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.

Samuel Saiz put the West Yorkshire outfit in the lead in the 21st minute, and Stuart Dallas doubled the advantage on 76 minutes.

The West Yorkshire outfit played the game without star striker Chris Wood, who is in Manchester today for a medical ahead of his move to Premier League club Burnley, according to Sky Sports.

Former Leeds head coach Redfearn was following the match, and he was impressed with the performance of the Whites, summing up their display in one word – “outstanding”.

Tony Dorigo, who played for Leeds as a defender in the 1990s, has taken to Twitter to praise Thomas Christiansen’s side for their win against Sunderland.

“An absolutely outstanding performance,” Redfearn told Radio Yorkshire when asked about Leeds’s display against Sunderland.

Leeds will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Newport County at Elland Road in the EFL Cup.
