Leeds United are going strong in the Championship at the moment and look set to finish in the playoffs. The Whites are currently fifth in the standings with 69 points from 39 matches.

Chris Wood has been the star for Leeds. The New Zealand international striker has scored 24 goals and has provided two assists for the Whites so far this campaign.

Another reason behind the Whites’ success this campaign has been the centre-back partnership between Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson.

The Whites have conceded just 37 goals in 39 league matches so far this season, and much of it is down to the performances of 25-year-old Bartley, currently on loan from Swansea City, and 26-year-old Jansson at the back.

Former Leeds head coach Neil Redfearn has praised the duo and has given them the ultimate praise, claiming that they are the two best centre-backs in the Championship.

“For me, I think they have got the best two centre-halves in the division when Jansson and Bartley play,” Redfearn told Football on 5 on Channel 5.

Leeds will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Brentford away from home at Griffin Park in the Championship.
