Neil Redfearn isn’t a huge fan of the idea of Leeds United going 4-4-2 with their current options.

Neil Redfearn has rubbished suggestions on Radio Yorkshire that Kemar Roofe should partner Pierre-Michel Lasogga in a two-pronged attack for Leeds United.
Leeds went down 1-0 to Reading on Saturday in what was a third successive defeat for Thomas Christiansen’s side and it is clear that the 44-year-old head coach needs to tinker with his system a little bit ahead of the trip to Bristol City this weekend.
One such change could come in the form of Lasogga, who managed only 12 touches in 77 minutes against the Royals during what was another isolated performance from the loan striker, who has scored once in his last six games.

Roofe, a £3 million signing under Garry Monk, is Leeds’ top scorer this season with six goals and four of them have come from a central striking role.
Another option for Christiansen could be to pair the 24-year-old and Lasogga up front in a 4-4-2 system, but former Whites boss Redfearn isn’t having it.

“Not good enough mate,” said Redfearn on Radio Yorkshire when asked if Roofe could partner Lasogga. “Not good enough for this level. We need something better than that.”
When asked if Roofe was at his best up front, Redfearn added: “At his best, but a bad job.”
It isn’t clear whether Redfearn was intimating that Roofe himself is “not good enough” or whether he was referring to the idea of him partnering the 25-year-old German.
In any case, Christiansen certainly needs to freshen things up a little and Jay-Roy Grot offers another option for Leeds this Saturday.
