Neil Redfearn has told TV Yorkshire that Ronaldo Vieira has been Leeds United’s stand-out player over the last two games.
The 18-year-old impressed in Tuesday night’s penalty-shootout win over Norwich City at Elland Road as Leeds moved into the quarter-final of the League Cup.
Vieira, who scored the winning penalty after the clash finished 2-2, also shone in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers after being recalled into the XI.
The young starlet – who penned a three-year extension earlier this season – is a real inspiration to academy hopefuls at Thorp Arch, given how much his stock has risen over the past 12 months.
And Redfearn says he is developing into a fine talent for the Yorkshire club.
When it was put to Redfearn by TV Yorkshire that the teenager has been “outstanding”, the ex-Whites manager agreed: “Yeah, he has. He was probably the stand-out player again tonight.
“There were some great performances tonight, but he’s becoming a real find for Leeds.”
The only downside to Vieira’s form is that it prompts thoughts of whether owner Massimo Cellino will cash in on him, if a big offer is lodged next summer.
Given the length of his contract, it would have to be a sizeable offer, but it would be a shame to see him quit Leeds before leaving a real mark on the side.
