Leeds United look set to sign the young Dutchman forward this summer.

Neil Redfearn has told TV Yorkshire that Jay-Roy Grot will benefit from the feel-good atmosphere at Leeds United at the moment as he closes in on a move to Elland Road.
The 19-year-old striker is, according to The Yorkshire Evening Post, nearing a £1.5 million move to Leeds from Dutch side NEC Nijmegen this week.
According to The YEP, Grot, who narrowly failed to secure a move to Fiorentina earlier in the transfer window, was expected to have undergone a medical at Thorp Arch today.

If he joins, the young hitman comes into a Whites team who have won four of their six games in all competitions this season, drawing the other two.
And Redfearn believes that Leeds’ rich vein of form will help him adapt at the Yorkshire club that bit quicker than had Thomas Christiansen’s side been struggling, but also stressed the importance of being patient as a result of his age.
“There’s got to be a little bit of patience, because there’ll be ups and downs with that [his age],” he told TV Yorkshire.

“To be fair, the signs are good so far – six games and no defeats – it’s an unbelievable record. He’d be coming into an atmosphere and a surrounding at the club that’s positive and I think as a young player he’ll benefit from that.”
Grot has managed five goals from 31 games for the Dutch outfit and although he isn’t expected to be United’s direct replacement for Chris Wood, having another talented youngster in the ranks can do no harm whatsoever.
