Neil Redfearn believes that Leeds United have invested in too many foreign players.

After a bright start to the season, Leeds are failing to maintain their standards. They have won just once and lost six in their last seven games.
The Whites have suffered defeat in four consecutive games in all competitions before the international break, and find themselves 10th in the league table, 12 points behind leaders Wolves.
Former Leeds manager Neil Redfearn believes his old club are paying the price for investing heavily on foreign recruits.
He says that Leeds should have focused more on signing home grown talents with a strong knowledge of Championship football.
Redfearn opines that many of the summer signings do not understand the division. He does not blame the players, but the recruitment team.
“I look at the signings in the summer and there are not enough of them who understand this division – that is massive,” Redfearn said, as quoted by The Mirror (printed edition; page 69).
“I think the foreign players at Leeds have got ability and offer something, but at times in this division the real nitty-gritty, horrible stuff needs to be done. I don’t blame the players. You have got to look at who recruited them.”
Meanwhile, Thomas Christiansen is confident he can survive at Leeds. According to reports from the Mirror, he will ask for some reinforcements in January, with bolstering the strike department being a top priority.
Christiansen wants Liverpool’s Danny Ings or Manchester United’s James Wilson on loan.
