Neil Redfearn believes Leeds United will gradually improve.
Neil Redfearn has suggested to TV Yorkshire that Leeds United will only get better and better as the season progresses.
Leeds were held to a goalless draw by 10-man Preston at Elland Road on Saturday in two dropped points which has dampened spirits somewhat, given the circumstances of the result.
Thomas Christiansen’s side had scored seven in two matches before the visit of Preston, having beaten Bolton 3-2 in their Championship opener, before thumping Port Vale 4-1 to reach the second round of the League Cup.
There were three new signings in Christiansen’s first XI, while Samu Saiz also had a 30-minute cameo, and former Leeds boss Redfearn believes that his old side will gradually improve as the players gel with their new team-mates.
He told TV Yorkshire: “They’ll learn from this game. That’s the thing. There’s quite a few new signings in amongst that starting XI and they’ll learn about themselves as a team.
“The manager will learn about the players, which is important because they’ve got a big game on Tuesday now against Fulham.”
Leeds host Fulham on Tuesday and winning is important.
Elland Road was a fortress for United last season, undoubtedly playing a huge role in their seventh-placed finish, and the sooner they re-establish their cracking home form, the better.
