Leeds United edged out the Tractor Boys on Saturday.
Neil Redfearn has claimed on TV Yorkshire that midfielder Eunan O’Kane is something of an unsung hero for Leeds United already.
The 26-year-old joined Leeds last month after signing a two-year deal with the Yorkshire club, following a spell with Premier League side Bournemouth.
His arrival has coincided with the Whites enjoying a purple patch, with all three of his starts for the club resulting in victories for Garry Monk’s side.
Perhaps the most impressive of those wins was Saturday’s 1-0 success at home to Ipswich Town, in which Chris Wood’s 35th-minute opener was the difference.
But O’Kane certainly did his bit in midfield, and ex-Leeds boss Redfearn says the Republic of Ireland international is already something of an unsung hero.
He told TV Yorkshire: “He’s one of these that goes about his business quietly. I think he’s a bit of an unsung hero.
“He’s made a difference since he’s come in. He’s got good energy, reads the game well, he makes Leeds play and he’s a good link between defence and attack.”
He certainly appears to have made an impact, and Monk will hope O’Kane continues to prove influential on Tuesday when Leeds visit Bristol City.
