The Leeds United summer signing has struggled for his best form at Elland Road.

Former Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn believes that Kemar Roofe needs a run of games to find his best form.

Leeds spent big to bring in Roofe from Oxford United in the summer, and with good reason. The attacker had scored 26 goals in 49 appearances for the League Two side last season. However, the step up to the Championship has been something of a challenge for the 23-year-old.

He is still without a goal for his new team after 15 games and Leeds fans are beginning to wonder what all the fuss is about.

He endured another tough night against Wigan Athletic in midweek but former Leeds youth and head coach Redfearn believes he had a good game. He stated on TV Yorkshire that Roofe simply needed minutes in order to get back to his best:

“I think he worked hard and tracked back. His forays into the final third were all a bit hit and miss. He went past the full-back a few times, he got tackled a few times.

“But he’s a willing lad. You have to remember it’s his first start, or proper start, in a long time. The lad needs a run of games to truly find his form so hopefully he’ll get that run of games and we’ll see the best of him.”

The struggling Leeds star might just be about to get such a run. Stuart Dallas is still out of action for this weekend’s clash with Burton Albion and Roofe will be expected to play in his place.

Leeds fans, management and most of all Roofe will be hoping he can end his goal drought as soon as possible and start proving his worth at Elland Road.
