Neil Redfearn is a big fan of Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas it seems.
Neil Redfearn has told TV Yorkshire that Stuart Dallas can be a “massive out” for Leeds United if he can stay fit this season.
The Northern Ireland international bagged his first goal of the season on Saturday in the 2-0 win at Sunderland.
The 26-year-old started Leeds’ 5-1 demolition of Newport County in the League Cup this week and again looked dangerous, grabbing one assist in the rout.
On the whole, Dallas, between League Cup and Championship appearances, looks a much-improved player under Thomas Christiansen than he did for large parts of the 2016-17 campaign under now-Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk.
And Redfearn says that the former Brentford winger – a £1.3 million signing two years ago, according to Sky Sports – can play a big role for the Whites this season.
He told TV Yorkshire: “I like Dallas. He’s got the stuff needed for the Championship, does the hard yards and he understands his position.
“He’s a clever footballer and I’m pleased that he’s getting his goals. If they can get a fit Stuart Dallas playing well then he’s a massive out for Leeds.”
Dallas might well start Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest. Normally he’d be competing with Kemar Roofe for a right-wing spot, but the former Oxford man grabbed a hat-trick against Newport from a number nine role following Chris Wood’s exit.
Leeds probably won’t have a tried-and-tested replacement signed before Saturday, so the Northern Irishman could well continue out wide if Roofe is deployed up top again.
