Rangers recorded a thumping win at Hamilton in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

BBC pundit Neil McCann has stated that Rangers ace Andy Halliday has the ‘trust’ of manager Steven Gerrard after he wasn’t expected to make the number of appearances he has done this season.
The 27-year-old started the Gers’ 5-0 win at Hamilton on Sunday afternoon, providing an assist and helping his team secure a clean sheet in the Scottish Premiership.
There were five different scorers for the away team, with Ryan Jack, Jermain Defoe, Scott Arfield, James Tavernier and Kyle Lafferty all finding the back of the net without their star man Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland, McCann agreed that not many people expected Halliday to start the number of game he has done under Gerrard, but he now has become a key member of the squad.
On people not expecting Halliday to make the number of appearances, he has under Gerrard: “No [he wasn’t expected to play as much],” McCann told BBC Sport.
“And he [Gerrard] said himself at how important he is to the team and to the makeup of the squad. I think he knows that there is a trust in Andy Halliday.”

Halliday is a natural midfielder but he has been deployed in various roles by Gerrard over the course of the season from playing in a number six role to playing at left-back.
He has played 29 games in all competitions this term, scoring two goals and supplying three assists to his teammates, according to transfermarkt.
The win at Hamilton has helped Rangers close the gap on leaders Celtic to five points, but they are currently in action at home to Motherwell in the later kickoff.
Gerrard will be well aware that, at the very least, his players will need to win all their remaining league matches and their Old Firm rivals will need to drop points if they are to catch them in the title race.
