Celtic ran out 4-0 winners over Inverness last night.
Neil McCann has praised Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers for telling Stuart Armstrong to shoot from his free-kick, which led to the third goal against Inverness, during Sky Sports’ live coverage of the match.
Armstrong looked set to cross the ball into the box, but Rodgers quickly spotted an opportunity.
With the Inverness goalkeeper covering the ball to the back post, Rodgers realised there was too much space at the front post, and quickly told Armstrong to shoot – rather than cross.
Armstrong then went a curled the ball into the back of the net, to secure Celtic’s third goal.
And McCann credited Rodgers with the assist for the strike. He said: “This is class, this is. Brendan says go and have a go, so now he’s cool. This is just all about his aim and Brendan gets a little assist – it’s nice!”
Celtic’s win over Inverness was hugely dominant, as the Bhoys cruised to their 22nd consecutive victory in domestic football.
As well as Armstrong, Moussa Dembele scored a brace and Scott Sinclair also got on the scoresheet.
Celtic are now 27 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership, and are coasting towards the title.
