Neil McCann criticised Rangers duo James Tavernier and Connor Goldson on BBC Sport during the match against Young Boys.

The former Rangers winger was not impressed with Rangers right-back Tavernier and central defender Goldson for their role in Young Boys’ first goal of the evening five minutes into the second half.

It saw the game level at 1-1, and the home team scored again in the third minute of injury time to win the Europa League Group G match 2-1.

McCann told BBC Sport: “James Tavernier raced out to the wide position. At first, he won possession then lost it. And, when the ball broke towards the wide area, Connor Goldson is dead.

Disappointing result

Rangers headed into the Europa League match against Young Boys as favourites, and it did look like they were going to pick up maximum points when they went a goal up on the stroke of half time.

Defensive errors cost Rangers the points against Young Boys, and one suspects that Gers manager Gerrard will not be pleased with his players.

Rangers will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Hamilton Academical at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership.
