Would Dundee defender Jack Hendry be a good signing for Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic in the January transfer window?

McCann, though, has said that Celtic have not made any bid for the defender, and has also suggested that the 22-year-old should not leave for the Glasgow giants as he is progressing.
“They [Celtic] have shown an interest but there’s not been anything [bids] there,” McCann told Sky Sports. “It is no surprise to me. We have a number of players who have caught the eye of a lot of clubs, I would imagine.
“Jack has come on to the scene here and I am really pleased with the way he is progressing but, like our team, he has a long way to go before he is the finished article. But it would need to be a handsome sum to take Jack Hendry away from us.”

Hendry is a talented and promising young defender who would be a good signing for Celtic.
Defence is an issue for the Glasgow giants, and signing a player of Hendry’s age and quality would assure them of having a player who can get better in the coming years.
However, the Dundee youngster would find it hard to break into the Celtic first team and play on a regular basis at the moment.

There would also be intense pressure on Hendry, although working under former Liverpool and Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers is only going to make him better.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 51 points from 22 matches, while Dundee are currently 10th in the standings with 22 points from as many games.
