Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were extremely active in the summer transfer window.
Neil McCann has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on October 31st, that Glasgow Rangers need to spend far more wisely than they did in the summer, if they are to start competing with Celtic.
Rangers brought in a number of new players during the previous transfer window.
However, many of Rangers’ new arrivals have not had the desired impact at Ibrox.
Joey Barton’s troublesome time in Glasgow has been well documented, but a number of Rangers’ other additions in the summer have endured frustrating starts to life with the Light Blues.

And McCann believes that Rangers will need to invest heavily in the coming years, if they are to close the gap on Celtic.
“Mark has to find the right players in the transfer window, and spend the money better,” McCann said.

“I don’t think he did in the summer. There have been a couple of boys who have let him down. Celtic will keep going further into the distance, if Rangers don’t inject some transfer money.”
As things stand Rangers are nine points behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table.
Warburton’s men did win their most recent outing 3-0 against Kilmarnock, though, after putting in what was arguably their best performance of the season.
